Apple (AAPL) has hired longtime American Airlines (AAL) executive Nate Gatten as its head of government affairs, effective Aug. 31, Bloomberg reported Wednesday, citing a company memo it viewed.
Kate Adams, who had served as senior vice president of government affairs, will remain in an advisory role until Oct. 1, the report said, citing the memo.
Gatten, a Republican, served as American Airlines' government affairs chief from 2017 until this week, the report said. Apple wanted a person who could align with the Trump administration, the report said, citing people familiar with the matter.
Apple didn't immediately reply to a request for comment from MT Newswires.
