Market Chatter: Nvidia in Talks for $3 Billion Investment in SoftBank's SB Energy Ahead of IPO

MT Newswires Live10:55

Nvidia is negotiating to invest up to $3 billion in SoftBank Group (TYO:9984) subsidiary SB Energy, which is developing an Ohio data center for OpenAI, The Information reported on Monday, citing people familiar with the discussions.

Half of the funds would come at the project's signing, with the remainder tied to SB Energy's planned IPO as soon as next month, which could raise at least $5 billion, the news portal said.

The energy infrastructure firm, which also counts OpenAI as a backer, is building multiple campuses to meet surging AI-driven data demands, the publication said.

Nvidia and SB Energy did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment.
