Keppel Ltd (SGX: BN4) pays last on 21 August 2026.\n\nThe calendar makes the three look alike, but the cash behind them differs sharply.\n\nEvery dividend draws on money the business generated or raised. \n\nSome of that money arrives again next year. \n\nSome of it comes from selling an asset the company will never own twice. \n\nFree cash flow keeps the dividend tap running. \n\nThe type of cash doing the work decides whether the payout holds.\n\nThe three payers sit at different points on that spectrum. \n\niFAST raised its payout, and rising profit covered the increase. \n\nSingtel splits its dividend into two components drawn from separate sources, while Keppel held its payout unchanged as operating cash flow more than halved.\n\nIs iFAST’s dividend increase backed by profit?\niFAST declared a second interim dividend of S$0.03, 50% higher than the S$0.02 paid a year ago.\n\nProfit growth paid for that increase. \n\nRevenue rose 34.8% year on year (YoY) to S$162.0 million in the second quarter of 2026 (2Q2026). \n\nFirst-half revenue grew 39.3% to S$316.5 million. \n\nNet profit attributable to owners climbed 40.7% YoY to S$57.9 million for the half.\n\nAssets under administration reached a record S$36.13 billion as at 30 June 2026, up 32.8% YoY. \n\nNet inflows contributed S$2.56 billion during the half. \n\nRecurring net revenue accounted for 90.2% of non-banking net revenue.\n\nFree cash flow fell to S$140.9 million in 1H2026 from S$435.8 million. \n\nThe two figures do not compare like-for-like. \n\nCustomer deposit movements at iFAST Global Bank run through operating cash flow, and the prior-year base carried a larger deposit increase.\n\nNet cash stood at S$384.7 million at the end of June. \n\nManagement raised full-year dividend guidance to S$0.12 or higher.\n\nWhat is actually funding Singtel’s dividend?\nSingtel’s 19 August payment is the final instalment of its FY2026 dividend. \n\nThat fiscal year ended 31 March 2026 (FY2026). \n\nThe results behind this payment cover a different period from the June-end figures at iFAST and Keppel.\n\nManagement declared a total ordinary dividend of S$0.185 per share for FY2026, up 9% compared with a year ago. \n\nA core dividend of S$0.134 tracks underlying earnings, while a value realisation dividend of S$0.051 draws on capital recycling – Singtel sold a 0.8% stake in Airtel for S$1.5 billion during the year.\n\nUnderlying net profit rose 12% YoY to S$2.8 billion. \n\nThat figure anchors the core component. \n\nGroup revenue held stable at S$14.3 billion as a 2% depreciation in the Australian dollar masked underlying growth.\n\nNCS lifted operating profit 34% to S$340 million and secured a record S$3.8 billion in bookings. \n\n\nOptus added 23% to reach A$550 million. \n\nSingtel Singapore moved the other way. \n\nOperating profit there fell 4.6% to S$795 million amid mobile competition and eSIM pressure on roaming revenue. \n\nNet debt gearing stood at 23.3%.\n\nCan Keppel’s cash flow carry an unchanged dividend?\nKeppel declared an interim dividend of S$0.150 per share, unchanged from a year ago.\n\nRevenue for 1H2026 rose 24.6% YoY to S$3.8 billion. \n\nInfrastructure drove the gain with a 27% rise to S$2.5 billion after the Keppel Sakra Cogen Plant began commercial operations. \n\nNet profit attributable to shareholders fell 59.0% to S$154.7 million after a S$375 million loss in the non-core portfolio. \n\nNet profit excluding that portfolio rose 25% to S$530 million. \n\nRecurring income grew 13% to S$467 million.\n\nThe dividend question sits in the cash flow statement. \n\nOperating cash flow fell to S$96.8 million from S$219.4 million a year ago on higher working capital needs. \n\nThe company reported a free cash inflow of S$570 million, which included investing activities and came largely from S$1.1 billion of divestment proceeds and dividends received.\n\nKeppel has announced about S$1.7 billion of asset monetisation year to date against a full-year target of S$2 billion to S$3 billion. \n\nCash stood at S$2.2 billion as at 30 June 2026, against borrowings of S$11.3 billion excluding lease liabilities.\n\nGet line that funded it. \n\nRecurring revenue that grew this year tends to show up again next year. \n\nProceeds from selling a stake or a rig will not repeat once the asset is gone. \n\nSingtel makes the distinction easy by naming its two components separately. \n\nMost companies leave that work to you.\n\nNone of this makes capital recycling wrong. \n\nKeppel runs its monetisation programme deliberately, and the proceeds fund a shift towards asset management. \n\nA payout leaning on divestments depends on how many assets remain to sell. \n\nA payout leaning on recurring revenue depends
