Alphabet's (GOOG, GOOGL) Google and Salesforce (CRM) backed a $250 million Series C funding round for satellite startup Muon Space, led by Eclipse Capital, Bloomberg reported Thursday, citing a company statement.
The company has now raised more than $386 million in equity funding, it said. Muon has launched 11 satellites and plans to produce hundreds annually at its new California manufacturing facility, it added.
CEO Jonny Dyer told the publication that Muon could pursue an IPO as soon as 2027, though a listing next year is unlikely.
