Market Chatter: Anthropic-Linked Texas Data Center to Receive $1.3 Billion Private Credit Loan

Amazon-backed (AMZN) Anthropic will be the primary tenant of an AI data center in Texas that is set to receive a roughly $1.3 billion private credit loan from Eagle Point Credit Management, Bloomberg reported Wednesday, citing a person familiar with the matter.

The loan is part of a larger $16 billion financing package for Nexus Data Centers, which will use the funds to complete construction of a facility in Hubbard, Texas, which will include its own gas-fired power plant, the report said, citing the person.

Eagle Point is the single largest investor in the loan, which is structured as mezzanine debt, the report said.

Eagle Point and Nexus didn't immediately reply to requests for comment from MT Newswires.
