Cinemark Holdings (CNK) said Tuesday that "Spider-Man: Brand New Day" has become the highest-grossing domestic film in the theater chain's history, reaching the milestone in less than three weeks.
The film also set all-time records across Cinemark's premium formats, becoming the company's best-performing title for XD, ScreenX panoramic screens and D-BOX motion seats, the company said.
Cinemark said the movie also drove demand for food, beverages and merchandise.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day" has grossed more than $2 billion worldwide since its July 31 release, including about $794.1 million domestically and $1.24 billion internationally, according to Box Office Mojo.
