China's Central Bank Added Eight Banks to Digital Renminbi Network

The People's Bank of China added eight more banks to its digital renminbi network, the central bank said in a Monday press release.

The central bank included Ping An Bank (SHE:000001), Hengfeng Bank, China Bohai Bank (HKG:9668), Bank of Shanghai (SHA:601229), Bank of Hangzhou (SHA:600926), Huishang Bank (HKG:3698), Bank of Changsha (SHA:601577), and Guangxi Beibu Gulf Bank.

The newly added banks will start conducting business related to the digital renminbi after completing business and technical preparations.

Currently, the number of institutions connected to the digital renminbi system has reached 30.
