Banco Santander (SAN), Telefonica, AI Infrastructure Development, and SETT have received European Commission approval to create a joint venture focused mainly on data center services in Spain, the European Commission said Thursday.

The regulator said the joint venture will support the expansion of cloud and AI infrastructure in Europe.

The commission said the deal does not raise competition concerns because the companies have limited market positions.
