Bitcoin broke above $68,000 Wednesday, lifting shares of many crypto stocks as digital-currency leaders are scheduled to meet with President Trump in the White House this afternoon.
The largest cryptocurrency gained about 6% and recently traded around $68,500, its largest percentage increase since March.
Crypto stocks surged in tandem with bitcoin. Shares of Coinbase Global, the largest digital-assets exchange in the U.S., jumped 13%. Strategy, the bitcoin-accumulation firm founded by Michael Saylor, was recently up 14%.
Stablecoin company Circle Internet Group advanced 12%. American Bitcoin, the bitcoin mining and treasury firm co-founded by Eric Trump, surged 17%.
