Nvidia (NVDA) is discussing an investment in AI startup Perplexity as part of a funding round that would value the company at more than $30 billion, The Information reported Sunday, citing people familiar with the discussions.
The round could be worth billions of dollars and would increase Perplexity's valuation by more than 50% from its last financing, the report said.
Nvidia and Perplexity have been strengthening their business ties in recent years, with the chip designer at one point considering licensing the AI company's technology and hiring some of its staff, the report said.
Nvidia and Perplexity did not immediately reply to MT Newswires' request for comment.
