Tokyo Electric Power Receives 4.8 Billion Yen NDF Grant for Compensation Payments

Tokyo Electric Power Company (TYO:9501) said it received 4.8 billion yen in grants from the Nuclear Damage Compensation and Decommissioning Facilitation Corporation, according to a Tokyo Stock Exchange filing on Monday.

The Japan-based electric company said that the grants totaled 11.6 trillion yen, along with 188.9 billion yen in indemnity payments from the NDF under the Act on Contract for Indemnification of Nuclear Damage Compensation.

The company made its 172nd funding request as compensation payments due to people affected by the nuclear accident by the end of September exceeded the combined amount previously received.

Shares of the Japanese electric utility fell 2% in recent trade.
