PTTEP Units, PETRONAS Carigali Unit Sign Production Sharing Deal for Malaysia-Thailand Block A-18-01

PTT Exploration & Production's (SET:PTTEP) units, PTTEP JDX Thailand (JDA) and PTTEP JDX Thailand, and PETRONAS Carigali unit PC JDA signed a production sharing contract with the Malaysia-Thailand Joint Authority for Block A-18-01.

PTT Exploration & Production and PC JDA will each hold a 50% participating interest in the block and will continue exploration, development and petroleum production activities, according to a Thursday Thailand Exchange filing.

The three companies also signed a 35-year gas sales agreement with PTT (SET:PTT) and PETRONAS, effective Jan. 1.

Block A-18-01 covers the original Block A-18 and an additional area spanning approximately 3,494 square kilometers. It has natural gas production capacity of about 300 million to 400 million standard cubic feet per day, with supplies divided equally between Thailand and Malaysia.
