Instagram Chief Mosseri Says He Does Not Tell Team to Hide Information

Instagram chief Adam Mosseri testified Tuesday that he does not direct employees to withhold information that could create potential legal liabilities, CNBC reported.

Mosseri said he would not be surprised if Meta's lawyers reviewed child-safety research for legal and policy reasons, but would be surprised if the purpose was to provide cover for litigation or mislead the public, according to the report.

The testimony came in a federal trial in which 29 state attorneys general allege Meta violated child-privacy and consumer-protection laws.

Mosseri also acknowledged that Meta restricted access to some internal research after whistleblower Frances Haugen leaked company documents in 2021, CNBC said.
