TradingKey - Micron Technology closed at $932.97 on August 25, which is an increase of 2.48% for the closing day. As the U.S. market was still closed for August 26, Micron Technology is showing signs of consolidation and is actively waiting for the next event after experiencing a record earnings adjustment. Micron quoted record breaking fiscal Q3 2026 revenue coming in at $41.46 billion. Micron Technology projected fiscal Q4 2026 revenue to come in at $50 billion with an 86% gross margin. The next concern for traders is, whether HBM pricing will hold strong long enough to get Micron past the $1,034 resistance level.
Record Q3 Results Show How Far the Memory Cycle Has Shifted
Micron Technology saw fiscal Q3 2026 revenue come in at $41.46 billion. A year ago, these numbers came in at $9.30 billion, and in the previous quarter these numbers came in at $23.86 billion. Additionally, Micron posted GAAP EPS of $24.67 and non-GAAP EPS of $25.11. Micron generated $25.39 billion in operating cash flow. GAAP gross margin for the operation came in at 84.6%.
From an operating leverage standpoint, this demonstrates a combination of tight memory supply, a richer product mix, and surging demand from AI. Cloud Memory came in at $13.77 billion, and Core Data Center had $11.52 billion. Micron is progressed more and more to high end HBM and server memory, whereas Micron previously relied more on traditional PCs and handsets.
$50 Billion Q4 Guidance Raises the Bar Again
As of now, Micron officials have not lowered any guidance for fiscal Q4 2026. Micron is looking at $50 billion, plus or minus $1 billion, in revenue. Gross margin expectations are at 86% in this fiscal Q4 2026. GAAP diluted EPS is expected to come in at $30.73, plus or minus $1.00, and non-GAAP EPS is expected to come in at $31.00, plus or minus $1.00. Looking at the midpoint, revenues jump 21% sequentially.
The margin forecast is the number traders should focus on the most. It shows that memory pricing remains favorable and tight advance supply. This is positive for earnings, but it also builds a higher comparison standard. Should any indication of weakening HBM pricing, conventional DRAM pricing, or customer commitments surface, there could be a significant downward adjustment in valuation.
HBM4 and August Investments Extend the AI Thesis
Micron has begun high-volume shipments of HBM4 for its lead customer’s platform. This product also has qualification samples to multiple end customers. Estimates are that volume production of HBM4E, based on the 1-gamma process, will occur in calendar 2027. Micron has also shipped qualification samples of 256 GB DDR5 RDIMMs to key server ecosystem partners.
August added three longer-term catalysts. Micron Ventures started a $250 million Paradigm Fund on August 13 to invest in AI models, AI infrastructure, and AI enterprise applications and physical AI. On August 20, Micron announced plans to invest up to $10 billion on Micron Research Labs in Boise, ID. Over the next decade, Micron will utilize this venture to fund long-horizon research, university collaborations, global satellite labs, and ecosystem partnerships. Four days later, Micron opened a 60,000 sq ft training facility to expand its domestic workforce.
These announcements do not materially impact near-term earnings, but do demonstrate Micron's commitment to investing beyond the current HBM shortage. The commitment is designed to allow Micron to continue to develop advanced AI technologies while growing its domestic production and talent.
The Risk Is No Longer Demand, but How Long Peak Economics Last
Micron’s current strong fundamental backdrop is due to strong customer demand. There has been no announcement of formal earnings guidance being reduced from Micron before August 26.

The main risk is how long the current strong customer demand will last. Memory remains cyclical, and current elevated pricing can encourage additional industry capacity. If AI spend by hyperscale customers slows, this could result in weaker demand for HBM, server DRAM, and storage.
For now, the data shows supply is tightening over erosion. MU declined 5.83% on August 24 along with the rest of the semiconductor sector; MU bounced back 2.48% on August 25. This volatility is probably caused by valuation and sector-specific trading, rather than a demand warning for MU.
Key Levels
The last completed close is $932.97. $908.20 is the pivot and $883.46 is the near-term support. Stronger moving average support is at $815.41. The resistance on the move upward is $1,034.50 and should it break this level, price may move to $1,156.40 and $1,254.45. The RSI is at 51 and is neutral as price trades near its signal line.
Is Micron Stock Still Bullish Above $908?
The answer to this is yes, though it is still in a consolidatory trading range. MU is still trading within a large symmetrical triangle, and as long as price trades above $908.20, the higher level of recovery will be maintained. A closing break above $1,034.50 and the falling trendline will confirm that the buyers are back in control of the market.
What Could Break the Micron AI Thesis?
A slower pace of hyperscaler AI capex will be a risk, along with increasing industry capacity with price competition and weak margin, and execution risk as Micron ramps advanced manufacturing. Given the current exceptional gross margins, small changes in expectations of price will have a large impact on earnings and a large change on the stock multiple.
Bottom Line
Micron enters August 26 with a strong earnings position, considering its finances and AI-memory shipments. With strong results for Q3, a projected $50 billion for Q4 revenue, an expected gross margin around 86%, and high volume shipments of HBM4, Micron is positioned well against the competition.
Micron's August job-creation initiatives position the company for future success, but remain of less importance in the short-term, especially with respect to HBM execution and pricing. $908 serves as the technical support line to maintain an uptrend for the stock. A break of $1,034.50 would show a bullish outcome for the stock, with an ultimate goal for the bulls of $1,156, and large losses towards $883 and $815 would mean a rival bid to $908.
