Treasury Yields Fall Amid Weaker-than-Expected U.S. Indicators

1543 ET - Treasury yields take another step downwards as demand returns following last week's selloff. Treasury auctions show steady demand. New residential home sales fall 10.5% in July, versus WSJ consensus of a much smaller 2.1% contraction.August Conference Board Consumer Confidence Index slips to 89.4 from 90.2, also missing forecast. July durable goods sales are expected to accelerate, while PCE inflation is forecast to remain above 3%. The 30-year yield falls 0.056 percentage point to 5.174%, while the 10-year declines 0.065 p.p. to 4.638% and the two-year is down 0.038 p.p. to 4.195%.
