0631 GMT - Major cloud service providers are expected to focus increasingly on efficiency and financial discipline in 2H 2026, as AI-driven infrastructure spending continues to surge, according to research firm Digitimes. Amazon, Alphabet and Microsoft reported combined cloud revenue of $106.3 billion in 2Q, with annual growth accelerating to 43%, the fastest pace since 2020. At the same time, Amazon, Microsoft, Alphabet and Meta are projected to raise total capital expenditures to a record $745 billion, Digitimes says. While the companies remain bullish on AI demand, mounting investment costs have pressured free cash flow, prompting providers to pursue cost controls, financial adjustments and more efficient AI offerings to balance growth with rising investment risks, the research firm says.
