Fitch Ratings affirmed Bank of Kaohsiung's (TPE:2836) long-term issuer default rating at BBB+ with a stable outlook, along with its national long-term rating at AA-(twn), according to a Tuesday statement.
The regional lender's ratings were backed by Fitch's expectation of a high probability of support from Kaohsiung City Government, which owns a 41.23% stake.
The standalone viability rating reflects the bank's sound asset quality, steady risk profile and improved core capitalization, with profitability expected to keep rising through 2027.
