S&P Rates NEC's U.S. Dollar Bonds A

S&P Global Ratings assigned an A- long-term issue credit rating to Japan-based NEC's (TYO:6701) U.S. dollar senior unsecured bonds, according to a Wednesday release.

The rating aligns with NEC's long‑term issuer credit rating, reflecting low leverage that limits lender disadvantage, S&P said.

The bonds should help diversify the company's funding sources through a wider investor base abroad, the rating agency said.

The company's rating balances its leading position in the domestic IT services market, improved profitability prospects, and stable key financial ratios with volatile earnings from the hardware segments and varied demand from large customers.
