SoftBank unit BBIX, OEC Launch OCF Connection Point at Oita Data Center in Japan

SoftBank (TYO:9434) unit BBIX and Japan-based OEC have added OCF Compute Fabric as a connection point within the OEC-operated Oita Data Center in Japan, according to a Wednesday release.

OCF, a regional cloud service by BBIX, IDC Frontier, launched its services at the Oita Data Center in August, expanding access to the cloud platform and allowing OEC to combine OCF with its private cloud service, Toyonokuni IaaS.

The companies said the integration will enable flexible cloud services tailored to customers' security, cost, and operational requirements in Oita Prefecture and will support connectivity between regional data centers and disaster recovery environments.
