BP (BP) has drawn interest from UK energy firm EnQuest regarding a potential purchase of its UK North Sea oil and gas operations, CNBC reported Thursday, citing an interview with EnQuest chief executive officer Amjad Bseisu.
BP initiated a marketing process in late July to sell its UK North Sea portfolio, signaling a major retreat from the region, the report said.
EnQuest has previously acquired regional interests from BP, including an initial 25% stake in the Magnus field in 2017, the report added.
BP did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment.
