President Donald Trump on September 4 posted on social media platform X, strongly criticizing the Missouri Supreme Court's ruling on the same day. The court had ordered the restoration of a previous congressional map, which Trump called "Ancient History."
Trump stated in the post that legal scholars consider the ruling "horrible, ridiculous, and unConstitutional" and that there would not be enough time to redraw the map before the upcoming election. He insisted that Missouri must continue to use the map that was in effect just a few months ago during the primary, accusing the court decision of disrupting the election process.
"This is a Dark Day for 'Justice' in Missouri!" Trump wrote. "The Election Process, as usual, is being disturbed in America!" He called on Missouri authorities to use the previous map and thanked the public for their attention to the matter.
Key quote: "The problem is, according to Legal Scholars, that not only was the ruling horrible, ridiculous, and unConstitutional, but there won’t be enough time to change the map back with the Election coming up in a very short period of time."
