Santana Minerals Drilling at New Zealand Gold Prospect Returns More High-Grade Intercepts; Shares Rise 3%

Santana Minerals (ASX:SMI, NZE:SMI) said two holes from an infill drilling program at the Rise and Shine South gold prospect in New Zealand delivered more high-grade intercepts, according to a Thursday filing with the Australian and New Zealand bourses.

Intercepts at the first hole include 20.7 meters at 4.8 grams per tonne grade of gold from 168.8 meters, and 2.3 meters at 19.7 g/t from 198 meters.

The second hole returned 25.8 meters at 1.1 g/t from 152.5 meters; 11 meters at 8.5 g/t from 182 meters; and 11.3 meters at 7.3 g/t from 234 meters.

The company said infill drilling is continuing with three holes remaining in the program.

Santana Minerals New Zealand shares rose 5% in recent Thursday trade, while its Australian shares gained 3%.
