Coinbase Global (COIN) has filed notice registration documents with the US Securities and Exchange Commission to offer equity perpetual futures on its US derivatives exchange, the company's chief policy officer said in a post on X Thursday.
Coinbase said the next step is obtaining product approval from the Commodity Futures Trading Commission.
The company said it expects coordination between the SEC and CFTC to support the potential launch of the products in the United States.
