Singapore shares incurred losses on Tuesday, tracking broader regional losses as oil prices climbed due to continuous geopolitical tensions.
The Straits Times Index (STI), a key benchmark for the Singapore Exchange, ranged between 5,694.39 and 5,770.33 throughout the day. It ended the session at 5,710.37, down 44.99 points or 0.8% compared to Monday's close.
Bumitama Agri down 4%; First Resources, China Aviation down around 3%; AEM SGD, SGX, Frencken, ST Engineering down around 2%.
On the corporate front, shares of Hong Leong Asia (SGX:H22) closed nearly 2% higher as unit Guangxi Yuchai Marine and Genset Power has renewed its application to list on the Main Board of the Hong Kong Exchange.
Keppel DC REIT has agreed to acquire an 88.62% effective stake in two freehold hyperscale data centers in Inzai City, Japan, from unrelated third-party sellers.
Meanwhile, Vibrant Group has acquired a 60% stake in Fair Breeze Trading for around SG$7.7 million.
