CBRE's flexible workplace operator Industrious will now open its 36,570 sq ft Shaw Tower location in early 2027, at least two months later than the initial November timeline, according to a Sept 11 statement.  \nIn a statement to City & Country, Industrious Asia Pacific (Apac) says the space measuring \"more than 36,000 sq ft across two floors\" will mark \"the next phase of our continued growth in Singapore\", without stating a reason for the delay. \nIndustrious Apac, formerly known as The Great Room by Industrious, had planned to open three locations this year. The company opened its 20,714 sq ft Keppel South Central location in July and recently opened its 29,620 sq ft Stamford Place location. \n\"Following the openings of Keppel South Central and Stamford Place this year, we remain focused on growing our network thoughtfully and creating workplaces that meet the evolving needs of businesses and professionals in Singapore,\" reads Industrious Apac's statement. \nIn July, Industrious appointed Melvin Vu as the firm's Apac managing director. Vu was previously CEO of Good Doctor Technology - a joint venture between Ping An Health, Grab and SoftBank - a title he held between September 2019 and March 2023.\nPrior to that, Vu held multiple senior leadership positions at Grab. His experience also includes executive leadership roles at SATS-Creuers Cruise Services, Carlson Wagonlit Travel, Singapore Cruise Centre and the Singapore Tourism Board.\nVu replaced Su Anne Mi, who co-founded The Great Room in 2015. The flexible workspace company was acquired by Industrious in May 2022. Mi led the business through its integration into Industrious, culminating in the July 1 rebrand of all Apac locations under the Industrious name.\nIndustrious' Apac portfolio includes 14 premium workplaces spanning Singapore, Hong Kong, Bangkok and Sydney, with plans to expand its regional footprint by more than 50% over the next 12 months.\nFollowing CBRE's acquisition in 2025, Industrious has expanded its global portfolio by 58%. The brand now operates over 250 flexible workspaces across more than 80 cities. Industrious plans to open more than 60 new locations worldwide in 2026.\nThe redeveloped Shaw Tower secured its temporary occupation permit (TOP) around July, marking the completion of Singapore's only Grade-A commercial development in 2026.\nGlobal insurer and asset manager Allianz returns as the anchor tenant, occupying about 78,000 sq ft, or close to 18% of total lettable office space at the 33-storey tower at 100 Beach Road. Allianz will be relocating from CapitaSky, where it currently occupies about 88,000 sq ft of office space.\nLendlease provides asset and property management services for Shaw Tower, which is owned by Shaw Towers Realty. Shaw Towers Realty is a subsidiary of the Hong Kong-based Shaw Foundation and The Sir Run Run Shaw Charitable Trust.\nOpened in 1976, the original Shaw Tower was one of the pioneering mixed-use developments in Singapore.
