Swiss luxury group Richemont appointed Anton Rupert, son of chairman and company founder Johann Rupert, as nonexecutive co-deputy chairman with immediate effect.

Anton Rupert will oversee the strategic product and communications committee, ensuring continuity in an area the company said is central to its creative and commercial direction, and will serve alongside fellow nonexecutive co-deputy chairman Bram Schot.

Schot will assume responsibility for board and committee-related governance matters, including the coordination of the board's committees and the group's corporate governance framework.

The division of responsibilities will ensure Richemont's strategic priorities and governance obligations receive dedicated attention, it added.

"This appointment is an important step in the board's long-term succession planning," said Chairman Johann Rupert.
