Amazon (AMZN) launched its first sterling bond sale Wednesday, with a four-part offering expected to price later in the day, Bloomberg reported Wednesday.

The report said the bonds have maturities ranging from three to 19 years.

Initial pricing discussions range from about 70 basis points over UK government bonds for the shortest maturity to about 110 basis points for the longest, Bloomberg said, citing a person familiar with the matter.

"The proceeds from this issuance will be used for general corporate purposes, which may include, but are not limited to, supporting business investments, funding future capital expenditures, and repaying upcoming debt maturities," Amazon told MT Newswires.
