In August, securities daily average value (SDAV) rose 35% y-o-y to around $2.2 billion, as total securities market turnover climbed 29% y-o-y to $43.3 billion. \nCompared to July, the growth in SDAV was up 8%, with interest from both institutions and retail investors.\n\"Retail was particularly active buying the dips, with participation 11% m-o-m higher in small- and mid-cap stocks and up 22% m-o-m in REITs\" says SGX.\nThe Straits Times Index, meanwhile, extended its rally and notched successive records in August, advancing 35% y-o-y to a month-end high of 5,755.36 and outperforming the rest of Asean on a year-to-date basis. \nSGX notes that turnover in STI constituents gained 44% y-o-y to $1.5 billion, driven by stronger participation from both institutional and retail investors.
