Around a quarter of South Koreans who use generative AI pay for it, according to a government survey earlier this year. In contrast, about 2% of Americans pay, according to a PNC Bank survey this year, which didn't break down generative AI users versus paid users. "South Korea's 'AI for All' Push Gives Free Access to Every Citizen," at 5:08 a.m. ET incorrectly said roughly a quarter of all South Koreans pay for generative AI.
