Hong Kong stocks opened little changed on Tuesday as elevated oil prices, bond yields and concerns over AI valuations kept risk appetite in check.
The Hang Seng Index rose 16.46 points, or 0.07%, to open at 24,934.06, while the Hang Seng China Enterprises Index gained 0.2%, or 18.67 points, to 8,303.25.
Technology stocks remained under pressure after a sharp selloff in U.S. semiconductor shares, with renewed concerns over the sustainability and risks of rapid AI development weighing on sentiment toward AI-related companies.
Markets were pricing a high probability of a 25-basis-point Federal Reserve rate hike on Wednesday, while investors also awaited the Bank of Japan's policy decision on Friday.
