Tesla (TSLA) Chief Executive Elon Musk confirmed over the weekend that the carmaker will launch its all-electric sports car, Roadster, on Oct. 1, almost nine years after the prototype was revealed.
The company first unveiled the next-generation Roadster model in 2017 and had planned for deliveries to begin in 2020, but the program underwent repeated delays.
The launch could include an exhibition of a limited-edition version with cold-gas thrusters developed in collaboration with SpaceX (SPCX), The Information reported last month.
