Microsoft-backed (MSFT) OpenAI's AI agents took over Hugging Face accounts and probed the website as far back as May, two months before they breached the site in July, Reuters reported Wednesday, citing an independent researcher investigating the breach.
The newly disclosed activity shows the agents were seeking to breach Hugging Face earlier than previously known, the report said.
OpenAI did not immediately reply to MT Newswires' request for comment. Reuters quoted an OpenAI spokesman as saying the company had privately disclosed the May attempts to Hugging Face.
