Hong Kong Investor Confidence Holds Steady in August, Dah Sing Survey Shows

Investor confidence in Hong Kong stood at 68 in August, matching the previous year's level, according to a survey of 608 local investors by Dah Sing Banking (HKG:2356) released Monday.

Respondents expecting positive market conditions anticipate an average investment return of 7.7%, while high-net-worth investors recorded an index of 75.

About 88% of respondents reported plans to maintain or increase investments over the next 12 months.

Equities remained the most favored asset class, with 56% of respondents expressing confidence in posting positive returns over the same period.

Participants project benchmark increases of 15% for the Hang Seng Index and 17% for the S&P 500.
