Market Chatter: Manus' Valuation to Rise to $4 Billion After Meta Breakup

MT Newswires Live13:43

China's Manus is expected to double its valuation to $4 billion in its first funding round after Beijing blocked Meta from acquiring the artificial intelligence startup, Bloomberg News reported Thursday, citing sources.

Manus' talks with other investors for the $500 million financing round are ongoing. New investors are not yet named, but Tencent (HKG:0700), capital investor HSG and ZhenFund are Manus' existing backers, sources told the media outlet.

The deal is still in the early stage and could bring changes to some of the terms. The expected valuation could make Manus the most valuable AI startup, according to the sources, the report said.

Manus did not respond immediately to MT Newswires' request for comment, as did Tencent, HSG and ZhenFund.
