Zijin Mining Group (HKG:2899, SHA:601899) proposed to invest 1 billion yuan into a partnership fund that will mainly invest in artificial intelligence and embodied intelligence, according to a Hong Kong bourse filing on Wednesday.
The mining group's Hong Kong shares fell 2%, while Shanghai shares slipped 1% during Thursday's morning trade.
Zijin will subscribe for 20.4% of Xiamen Shidai Shenyuan Venture Capital Fund Partnership Enterprise (Limited Partnership) through its unit, Zijin Mining Equity Investment Management (Xiamen). The company is one of the fund's 13 investors.
The seven-year fund's total capital will amount to 4.90 billion yuan.
