Alibaba's New AI Target Suggests Investments to Rise

0751 GMT - Alibaba Group is likely to invest more in artificial-intelligence businesses, given its revised target for the segment, Citi analysts say in a research note. Based on the company's aim of having 20 gigawatts of AI infrastructure by 2032, Citi lifts its capital expenditure forecast to 258.00 billion yuan for fiscal year 2027, 283.00 billion yuan for FY28 and 282.00 billion yuan for FY29, from its previous forecasts of 228.00 billion yuan, 201.00 billion yuan and 180.00 billion yuan, respectively. Citi keeps its buy rating and target price of 189.00 Hong Kong dollars. Shares last traded at HK$109.60.
