JPMorgan Chase (JPM) recently explored partnerships with private-credit firms to underwrite applications for some of its co-branded credit cards that it rejects, The Wall Street Journal reported Tuesday, citing people familiar with the matter.
The US banking giant sent out requests to more than 12 entities in this regard, the unnamed sources told the publication.
Executives of lenders such as Blue Owl (OWL), Blackstone (BX), KKR (KKR), and Sixth Street have been approached regarding the program, according to the report.
JPMorgan doesn't have a plan to launch a so-called second-look program, the WSJ reported, citing a company spokesman.
JPMorgan, Blue Owl, Blackstone, KKR and Sixth Street didn't immediately respond to MT Newswires' requests for comment.
