Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing (TSM) will build two buildings at the newly launched Baipu Industrial Park in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, Reuters reported Monday, citing the city's deputy mayor, Lo Ta-sheng.

The chipmaker's planned development includes a technology validation laboratory and a talent training center, with the facilities likely to become operational in Q4 2029, according to the report.

Taiwan Semiconductor didn't immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment.

The company's shares were up 1.2% in premarket activity.
