Market Chatter: Oracle-Linked Data Center Debt Enters Stressed Territory Amid Project Delays

MT Newswires Live09-21 20:19

Oracle-linked (ORCL) data center loans totaling about $18 billion trade at 89 to 91 cents on the dollar as investors grow concerned over permitting delays and local opposition to the company's Project Jupiter campus in New Mexico, the Financial Times reported Friday.

The project has also faced setbacks securing permits for natural gas pipelines and had its air permit application paused in August following environmental lawsuits, the report said.

Oracle's corporate credit rating was downgraded by S&P in July to one notch above junk, while banks have been left holding more of the project debt than initially planned, according to the report.

Oracle did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment.
