Starbucks plans to open a new technology hub in Chennai, India, as part of its global multi-site technology strategy, the company said in a statement.
The hub will support Starbucks' global business and work closely with technology and business teams in the U.S. and other markets.
The company also plans to bring work currently handled by third-party service providers in-house over time.
Recruitment is expected to begin in the first quarter, with the company still planning local hiring, office readiness and operating arrangements for the new hub.
