Novo Nordisk has received approval from Singapore's Health Sciences Authority (HSA) for its Wegovy brand, which is a once-weekly injectable semaglutide 2.4 mg, according to a Wednesday statement.
The pharmaceutical company said it is the first approved treatment in Singapore for adults with noncirrhotic metabolic dysfunction-associated steatohepatitis, or MASH, and moderate-to-advanced liver fibrosis.
The approval covers patients with F2-F3 fibrosis and requires use along with a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity, the company said.
