Singapore shares opened lower on Wednesday as investors awaited a highly anticipated meeting between US President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping in Washington this week.
The Straits Times Index slid 0.3%, or 17.81 points, to open at 5,705.95.
Investors will be watching the meeting, which runs through Friday, for signals on trade relations between the world's two largest economies.
