Malaysia Airlines carried over 600,000 passengers on its China services in the first half of 2026, up 27% from a year earlier, with an average load factor of 84%, parent Malaysia Aviation Group Bhd said Thursday.
The airline expects to carry over 52,000 passengers to and from China during the Golden Week holiday period from Sept. 26 to Oct. 11, up 21% year-on-year.
Malaysia Airlines restored daily services to Chengdu and launched daily flights to Shenzhen and Changsha in 2026, bringing its China network to nine gateways.
Malaysia Airlines also signed memoranda of understanding with Huawei, Weixin Pay and TravelSky Technology (HKG:0696) to strengthen its digital presence in China, it said.
