Thalia Therapeutics completed the initial chemistry synthesis of its siRNA candidate THAT-002, according to a Friday filing on London Stock Exchange.
The company began preclinical work on THAT-002 with WuXi AppTec's (HKG:2359, SHA:603259) WuXi AppTec (Hong Kong) in September. The candidate is designed to target PCSK9 and lipoprotein(a), two factors associated with cardiovascular disease risk.
Thalia will now begin in vitro studies, followed by in vivo studies later in the Q4. Data from the studies will guide further preclinical development ahead of IND-enabling studies and potential human trials.
