Stocks to Watch Recap: Akamai, Oracle, Costco, MGM

Akamai Technologies (AKAM): Anthropic will pay the company at least $11.6 billion to use its cloud infrastructure and software over seven years in an expansion of the two companies' partnership. Akamai shares soared 20% in postmarket trading.

Oracle (ORCL): Shares in the tech company slumped 3.5% after Bloomberg reported that it had invoked force majeure to shield itself from payments on a data center project. According to the report, the project's developer is a unit of Blue Owl Capital (OWL), whose shares also fell.

MGM Resorts (MGM): Shares slid 11% after Barry Diller said he was withdrawing his bid for the casino operator.

Meta Platforms (META): The tech giant's shares rose 4.5% after it announced new pairs of smart glasses and a hand-held device that would integrate its recently launched Muse AI agent. The stock is up about 17% this week.

National Stock Exchange of India (IN:544937): The stock rose as much as 5.2% in its long-awaited stock-market debut in Mumbai.

Costco Wholesale (COST): The company reported a higher profit in its fiscal fourth quarter, boosted by growth in both net sales and membership fees. Shares were roughly flat in afterhours trading.

Darden Restaurant (DRI): The restaurant operator said higher food and labor costs weighed on profit in the latest quarter, more than offsetting continued sales growth. The stock retreated 3%.
