Dick's Sporting Goods (DKS) was Smart Insider's stock pick of the week after its vice chair and three non-executive directors bought a combined $3.7 million worth of shares between Aug. 26 and Aug. 27 at around $130 apiece.

Mark Barrenechea, a non-executive director since January 2014, made the largest purchase, acquiring more than $2.2 million of shares and nearly tripling his holding, Smart Insider said in a Tuesday note. It was his first purchase in more than a decade and followed a series of sales, including a $1.3 million disposal at $212 in March 2024, according to the note.

William Colombo, vice chair since January 2008 and a company director since 1988, bought $785,500 of shares in his first purchase since September 2023, according to the firm. Smart Insider said it was the largest of his nine investments and the highest price he has paid for the stock.

Robert Eddy, a non-executive director since September 2023, purchased $515,000 worth of shares, while Sandeep Mathrani, a non-executive director since September 2020, bought $200,000 worth of stock, Smart Insider said.
