InSilico Medicine Nominates New Obesity Drug Candidate; Shares Jump 8%

InSilico Medicine (HKG:3696) nominated ISM1354, a next-generation small-molecule GIPR antagonist, as a preclinical candidate for potential treatment of obesity and related disorders, including type 2 diabetes, according to a Wednesday Hong Kong bourse filing.

The candidate was developed using InSilico Medicine's proprietary generative AI platform.

The company said ISM1354 retains favorable drug-like properties while offering improvements across pharmacokinetic and safety profiles.

Shares of the firm were up more than 8% in Wednesday afternoon trade.
