Fresenius Medical Care Needs U.S. Volume Growth to Win over Investors

Dow Jones09-29 14:31

0631 GMT - Fresenius Medical Care has made progress on its cost-savings plan, but it might need to return to U.S. volume growth to win over investors, Berenberg analysts say in a research note. The German dialysis specialist has delivered around 920 million euros in savings out of a target of 1.2 billion euros while reducing debt, the analysts say. However, U.S. treatment volumes are weak and deteriorated so far this year after being flat in 2025, they add. This will increasingly drive earnings and investors need evidence of positive U.S. treatment growth for shares to move higher, according to Berenberg. Berenberg cuts its recommendation on Fresenius Medical Care stock to hold from buy, while cutting its target price to 42 euros from 60 euros. Shares closed at 40.48 euros on Monday.
