ANZ Group Holdings (ASX:ANZ, NZE:ANZ) said its European subsidiary has started operations after receiving regulatory approvals to operate as a credit institution earlier this year, according to a Tuesday statement.

ANZ Europe complements the company's existing London, Paris, and Frankfurt branches, and will be headed by Sarah Berry, who oversaw the unit's establishment over the past two years, per the filing.

S&P Global Ratings assigned "AA-" long-term and "A-1+" short-term issuer credit ratings to ANZ Europe, with a stable outlook, ANZ Group said.
