Momenta Global (HKG:6880) aims to have several thousand robotaxis deployed by the end of 2027 and plans to expand into Dubai next year, Reuters reported Wednesday, citing head of the company's robotaxi business, Xie Shuo.
The autonomous driving technology company currently has more than 100 robotaxis deployed across three countries and is testing vehicles in five Chinese cities, Munich and Abu Dhabi, the report noted. Momenta is in talks with several European cities as well and also sees Japan as a priority for expansion.
The company plans to increase its fleet to hundreds of vehicles by the end of current year before reaching several thousand next year, Xie was quoted as saying by Reuters.
It is also working with chipmaker XHeart on autonomous-driving chips, including the next-generation X9, which it expects could lower computing costs.
